Lviv - the Lion City

Day 1. Lviv
Arriving in Lviv. Transfer to the hotel and opportunity for individual tour around the city. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2. Lviv
Breakfast. Lviv is a very beautiful city with its narrow medieval streets paved with stones, architectural decoration done in different styles preserved in its original form. This is an ancient picturesque city founded by Prince Danylo Halystky in the middle of the 13th century. During the panoramic tour you will have an oportunity to admire St. George Cathedral (1765) in baroque-rococo style with unusual ornamental entry, National University Ivan Franco - one among the oldest in Europe founded in 1661, High Castle from where you can enjoy the whole panoramic view of the city and surroundings beyond.
Excursion in the ancient part of the town (pedestrian). You will walk through the cozy streets of Lviv where each building is an architectural masterpiece with a rich history. You will discover The Opera House (1900) - an architectural masterpiece with gorgeous paintings and sculptures in the interior; Taras Shevchenko’s monument; Rynok square (16th century) - the heart of the city listed by UNESCO World Heritage Site; Armenian quarter with a splendid Armenian Virgin Mary’s Dormition Church (1370), Dominican Cathedral (1798); Baroque style Jesuit Cahedral; the Latin Cathedral and the Transfiguration Church; Jewish quarter with the remains of the Golden Rose synagogue; etc.

Day 3. Lviv — Olesko — Pidhirtsi — Zolochiv — Lviv
Breakfast. The whole day excursion "Golden Horseshoe Castles: Olesko, Zolochiv and Pidhirtsi". These castles are great examples of the fortification architecture and you will uncover many secrets of the past, exploring their territory. Visiting the old Olesko castle - an important architectural monument of the XIV-XVII centuries. Nowadays the Olesko castle displays the collections of antique art and furnishings from 16-17 centuries, sculptures, paintings, weapons and objects used in everyday life from different epochs. Next visit to Pidhirtsi castle - a splendid example of the Renaissance architecture. It is surrounded with the fortification ramparts and ravines of the XVII century, including great entrance gates and a park with ancient linden trees of the XVIII century. The last highlight of the program is Zolochiv Castle, built in XVII century. Today, Zolochiv castle is opened for visitors and consists of the Great Palace of late Renaissance and the Chinese Palace with oriental attributes – a rock garden with a place for meditation, flowers and rare plants, a small fountain, an oriental-style rotunda with a sculpture of Chinese Master.
Return to Lviv. Free time. Overnight. Day 4. Lviv
Breakfast. Free time. Optional tours. Transfer to the airport for your flight to back home.
