Pilgrimage in Ukriane Lviv – Zarvanytsia – Ternopil – Kyiv – Kozelets – Chernigiv – Kyiv (8 days, 7 nights) Day 1 : Lviv Arriving in Lviv. Transfer and accomodation at the hotel. Tour around the ancient city. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Day 2 : Lviv In the afternoon visiting Ukrainian Catholic University (Institute of Church History, Institute of Canon Law, Catechetical – Pedagogical Institute). Meeting with the members of the University at a conference on confessional situation in Ukraine. Free time. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Day 3 : Lviv Breakfast. Mass celebration. Visiting Museum of History of Religion in the basements of Dominical Cathedral. Visiting the ethnographic museum of folk architecture and rural life Shevchenkivskyi Gai. Here, on the territory of 60 hectares, museum's creators placed over 120 architectural sites and a bulk of folk life objects, which were brought here from Western Ukraine's various corners. Free time. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Day 4: Lviv – Zarvanytsia – Ternopil – Kyiv Breakfast. Transfer to Zarvanytsia for a pilgrimage trip to a place which is the same in Ukraine as Lourdes in France. Route to Ternopil. Transfer to the railway station. Dinner. Departure to Kyiv in the sleeper train in the 2nd class compartment. Day 5: Kyiv Arriving in Kyiv. Breakfast. Panoramic city tour in the capital of Ukraine and the cradle of Eastern Slavonic states. The tour includes Golden Gates and Vladimir’s hill, which is supposed to be the place of foundation of Kiev-city, Bogdan Khmelnitsky Monument, National Opera and Ballet Theater, St. Vladimir’s Cathedral - a splendid architectural pearl, with beautiful paintings of V. Vasnetsov and St. Michael’s Golden Domed Monastery founded in 1108, Kyiv Founders’ Monument, Khreschatyk Avenue, Independence Square - the scene of many notable events in the capital city of Ukraine. Mass celebration at catholic church. Excursion to St. Sofia Cathedral - the world famous historical and architectural monument of the first half of the 11th century. The cathedral is famous for its mosaics and frescoes by Byzantine masters. It is the first monument in Ukraine listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.Day 6: Kyiv – Kozelets – Chernigiv – Kyiv Breakfast. Transfer to Kozelets. Visiting the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary. Continuation to Chernigiv. Panoramic city tour including Pyatnytska church of the 12 century, the historical places of castle – BorysoGlibskiy and Transfiguration cathedrals, Collegiums, Regiment’s chancellery, Kateryna’s church, burial-mounds on the Boldyn’s mountains, Yeletskiy and Illinskiy Trinity monasteries. Mass celebration. Return to Kyiv. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Day 7: Kyiv Breakfast. Mass celebration at St. Nicola's Catholic Church. Visiting the Vydubytskyi Monastery, cultural and religious centre. Visiting the Holy Kyiv Pechersk Lavra - the Orthodox Christian monastery that is the holiest place of pilgrimage in Ukraine. It was founded in times of Yaroslav the Wise in XI century and is one of the most ancient monasteries in Old Rus. Trinity Church, the Assumption Cathedral (renovated in 2000), the Refectory Church and the labyrinth of the Near and Far Caves, with their relics of saints, are real masterpieces of world architecture. Free time. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Day 8: Kyiv Breakfast. Free time and optional visits. Transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
