Jewish heritage of Odessa. In ancient times Odessa was known as the third world's city by jewish population. That is why nowadays the city has a lot of sights tightly connected with the history of these people. You will see the Jewish hospital, the old Haskalah centre, the houses where famous writers and founders of Zionism used to live, the Holocaust Memorial, the place of the death camp Bogdanovka. You feel the atmosphere of the city where on the eve of World War I one third of the population were jewish and spoke Yiddish.
