Armenians came to Ukraine even in times of Kyivan Rys in the XI th century and settled in the provinces of the Western part of the country. They were welcomed by the Ukrainian population and over time evolved into larger communities. Cultural heritage of these people was seen everywhere around the country. Today Lviv is the center of the Eparchy of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Ukraine. Armenian Cathedral of Lviv is the town’s architectural jewelry and was built in the XIV century and includes old Armenian cemetery remained in use from the XIII to the XVIII century. A beautiful mosaic welcomes all prayers at the entrance. The frescoes date from the early XX century and are made in a very amazing modern style. Another major center of Armenian culture was once Kamianets-Podilskyi. A church with a beautiful bell tower remains in the city today.
